I promise you, these tins are the solution to SO many problems that are sitting in your spice cabinet right this minute! For one thing, they have a wide enough opening that you can fit a whole tablespoon in. We both know what a huge deal that is. They are labeled both on the top and on the side which means you can see your spice options whether they are stored in a drawer or a cabinet. They’re stackable. They’re square, which eliminates all that wasted space in between jars. They have windows in both the top and the side, so you can see how much cardamom you have left without opening the lid. They are 100% customizable so you can order a personalized set for the spices you actually use, and not the pre-fab set which big box stores think you probably cook with. There’s an absolutely enormous list of spices for you to choose from as you put together your own custom set - and there’s even a blank if you want to hand write something else. Each tin holds 1/2 cup which nicely fits any regular size bottle of spice. And, last but obviously not least, they are absurdly cute and classic which is more than you can say for most other spice organizational options!

About the Design

I wanted this set to channel classic spice tins with the full-custom-set look of an old general store spice counter. I have a fantastic, vintage, faux-Wedgewood-esque biscuit tin sitting in my dining room, which I picked up a few years ago at an antique store in England - and I used that as the inspiration for the blue and white design on these. But on the lettering I was referencing the amazing apothecary jars lined up on shelves at the Sazerac House in New Orleans. I love the gold foil, the drop shadows, and the swooping lines of the labels, elevating a hodgepodge of everyday ingredients to a statement piece.

Care

We all know kitchen goods will get greasy, but these tins don't have fragile papery labels that will wilt and bleed when you wipe them. So when you see that yucky kitchen sheen on the surface of these tins, you can use a wet rag or soft sponge and some dish soap to wipe them clean!
